Aweek before launch, I took a week off from Digital Entrepreneur. Content still needed to be reviewed. The website wasn’t yet finished. Our revenue plan, contributor agreements and social media calendar were overdue. But I needed rest, so I took a break.
Much like Matt Celuszak in his article, My f*ck it moment, I did what was right for me–and that’s not the first time I’ve put myself before business.
You lose yourself if you don’t put yourself first, and this has a negative impact on your business.Matt Celuszak
For the first few issues of Digital Entrepreneur, Barrak (hey, managing editor!) and I wanted to cover aspects of entrepreneurship we experienced while building this brand. We landed on wealth and wellbeing because the demands of life and business didn’t always balance out for either of us.
But, every setback. Every delay. Every time we didn’t see eye-to-eye. We chose health over hustle.
More rest, more frequently isn’t the luxury it seems. For me, it’s exactly what I need to access the creativity, innovation and leadership I need to drive toward financial success.
Poll
What area of business brings you joy?
Is it marketing? Sales? Being a master of technology or operations? Respond to our poll, so we can get a better sense of what interests you in business.
We’ve got two features that cover the topic of time, money and energy, and another by Mr. #BuildWealth himself, on the grind behind the glory of entrepreneurship.
Wealth without wellbeing is not the future I want for a group of people so critical to our economy: entrepreneurs. So welcome to Digital Entrepreneur, where joy is the new success.
